Soybeans Falling Back on Little News Following Trump/Xi Meeting

· Nasdaq

Soybeans are facing pressure following lack of news on the US/China talks on Thursday, with contracts down 15 to 17 cents. Futures were down fractionally to 4 cents across most contracts on Thursday, as news on the US/China front was quiet. Open interest was up 4,706 contracts. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was up 1/4 cents at $12.59. Soymeal futures were 30 cents to $5.80 led by October, with Soy Oil down 8 to 32 points. A slower start to harvest for some has tightened some supplies for crushers and meal availability.

Traders were monitoring the US/China meeting, though nothing was released surrounding trade related news. Secretary Bessent has stated this week that the two countries are extending the trade truce for 2 months. No news is not always good news.
