Corn Fading Back to Start Wednesday Trade

Corn prices are down 1 to 2 cents early on Wednesday. Futures posted fractional to 2 ½ cent gains across the board on Tuesday, following the rest of the grains and a $4.09 gain in crude oil after a weaker morning session. Open interest was down 2,782 contracts on Tuesday. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price was up 3 1/4 cents at $4.87.

Early harvest progress may be slowed this next week, with 1 to 3 inches seen in parts of KS, NE and SD through IA and the rest of the Eastern Corn Belt. The heaviest totals are seen in MN, WI, and MO.

CONAB data was released on Tuesday morning showing the 2025/26 corn crop in Brazil at 144 MMT, a 1.04 MMT increase from the previous number. An initial estimate for the 2026/27 corn crop was pegged at 148 MMT from CONAB, vs. the USDA at 139 MMT.

Dec 26 Corn closed at $5.35 3/4, up 2 1/2 cents, currently down 1 1/2 cents

Mar 27 Corn closed at $5.50 1/4, up 2 1/4 cents, currently down 1 1/2 cents

May 27 Corn closed at $5.56 3/4, up 1 1/2 cents, currently down 1 1/2 cents
